Should child killer Mary Bell remain under lifelong anonymity?

Q) This is old news, but I was curious as to what people think about Mary Bell. For anyone who doesn't know, Bell killed a 3 year old child in 1968 when she herself was 11. Bell's mother, a prostitute, tried to murder her 4 times when she was a kid and regularly 'rented' her to customers, which was obviously seen as a cause of her diagnosed psychopathy. She was rehabilitated and freed, and is now 50. Several years ago the press found her, Bell was released from custody in 1980 and was granted anonymity to start a new life with her daughter, born in 1984. This daughter did not know of her mother's past until Bell's location was discovered by reporters: she and her mother had to leave their house with bed sheets over their heads. The daughter's anonymity was originally protected until she reached the age of 18. However, on May 21, 2003, Bell won a High Court battle to have her own anonymity and that of her daughter extended for life. As Bell was released fully rehabilitated in 1980, should she be left alone to carry on? Or do you think that the anonymity should be lifted now that Bell's child is an adult? I agree completely. Let her be. arniesmum - no disrespect, but think logically. If Mary Bell's identity is revealed, people will easilt find her daughter - who is, as you say, totally innocent. janet - I don't have a problem! A) No matter what you think of Mary Bell she was not even a teenager. She was a small child and suffering appalling sexual abuse. This should happen to no child. When it does the country is up in arms. But not for Mary Bell. Not for one moment has she excused her actions. She has not manipulated her past to defend her actions. She now has lived her life quietly and she has a child of her own. Realistically the authorities will have been watching her very closely. Mary Bell lives with what she has done. Surely that combined with the punishment of years of sexual abuse and 12 years in prison is punishment enough?

Packard Bell NEC Recovery Process system serial number missing. can you help?

Q) I have a Packard Bell computer with Windows XP installed. I have the original product key. On start up I have a box appear headed PACKARD BELL NEC Recovery Process requesting a 12 digit System Serial Number. I have searched everywhere and cannot find it. Has anyone any suggestions?

A) check on computer exterior itself, manual or if no luck email Packard Bell direct.

Church bell tolling?

Q) have become bell ringer - single bell, church of Scotland. anyone any idea of how long or rhythm etc? thanks

packard bell easynoteb wont stay switched on, how do i rectify fault?

Q) packard bell easynote B, i switch the unit on, it goes through the usuall start up procedure shows window 2000 screen & moves on to packard bell screen, stays on for 20secs but then turns its self off & starts again. how do i rectify fault?

A) It sounds like a boot sector fault to me. It is easy to fix if you have the install disks, then you need to insert the disk and select the drive to be bootable then reinstall the boot sector it should take about a half hour. If you are unable to do this yourself, then I hope you have a friend to help you :)

How can I remove "Powered by Packard Bell" from the top of my Internet Explorer and AOL pages?

Q) I've a new Packard Bell PC and the name Packard Bell is all over it. I get a purple screen when I boot the PC up with Packard Bell all over it and also it says Packard Bell on the blue strip at the top of my AOL and Internet Explorer pages. How can I get rid of all trace of the Packard Bell name please?

A) Follow these easy steps. This tip requires Registry editing, so back up your System Registry files first (USER.DAT and SYSTEM.DAT in your Windows folder). Open System Registry Editor and navigate to first this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main then this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main At each location, double-click the "Window Title" item on RegEdit's right pane. Edit the "Value data" field to show the text your prefer. If you delete everything in the field, you should get Internet Explorer's original title bar text, which is "Microsoft Internet Explorer." (Note: You may not find a modified Window Title item in both Registry locations.) If you didn't find the a "Window Title" item in either Registry location, you can add one in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section. Click once on the Main folder to select it. Then right-click the white background anywhere on the right pane, and choose New > String Value. Name the new string value icon "Window Title" and press Enter. Now double-click it and type the text you'd like to appear in Internet Explorer's Title bar. This also works in IE versions, IE 4.0 and above. Sometimes a file ending in .INS controls the title bar text on their PCs. If you strike out with other methods, do a search of your whole drive for .INS files. Open them with a text editor, and see if you find such a file, look for a line in it that reads "Window_Title=" or something to that effect. Try changing the words that follow if they match up with what you see in your browser's title bar. The start up packard bell can be stopped by changing the show start up screen in the bios settings. Can I just say that it is doing stupid little things like this that dont effect the running of a PC in any way that create half of the problems that engineers face. "What were you doing to wipe the registry"? "I was removing the text from IE" "Did the text stop ie working"? "No" Did it affect anything at all"? "No" "So why did you want to remove it"?

bell push for a wire less?

Q) this is a door bell push button for a front door

A) Wireless recievers require a matched button as they dont all operate on the same frequency. Best bet is replace both the button and the reciever/chime. They are relativly inexpensive these days.

Packard bell?

Q) I recently made a back up of the o/s on a new packard bell computer. It kept telling me this was advisable.in the event of a crash etc. I put in a dvd-r which it advised and the operation completed successfuly. During the operation I got a screen asking how I would like to open the prog. I chose NO ACTION. I`ve inserted the disc to check if OK, guess what nothing happens. Please help what have I done wrong Can I change the NO ACTION action & how

A) *NO ACTION.is what you are doing wrong you have to tell it to do something as NO ACTION. is telling your computer to do nothing

Packard Bell Going Out of the window in 10 Mins?

Q) RIght everyone since my prevoius post i have now managed to get the PC back up and running (thanks for the comment some were very helpful) i used system restore. BUT... i went back in checked all drives were correxct and present and all appreared to be ok i even played a cd with Media player. I then downloaded the new itunes 7 and guess what the cd/dvd drives have been disabled again, and they wont update or reinstall, it looks like i will have to do another system restore. Getting really annoyed with this now. Does anyone know off any issue with a packard bell and Itunes (i know it sounds stupid but i am running low on ideas) Packard Bell going cheap ......... Moth erfuc ker what sort of company are they. Cant believe that a main stream PC manufacture hasnt got an update for itunes

A) There was supposed to be an update patch for the PB but as yet I have not been abk]le to find it either. It won't work with itunes. I am selling my PB on ebay i have had it up to here with PB equipment!

Why do kids keep pressing the bell on the bus. It must drive the driver mad?

Q) When the bell is pressed the sign comes on BUS STOPPING. Why is this not linked to the bell push to prevent the bell ringing after the sign is lit. Kids are a menice on the bus they make too much noise

A) The SamTrans buses in my area are like that: There's a pull cord, and the bell only rings the first time that it's pulled. You're right about children-in-general being rude and brainless little twerps. I think it starts when they're on the bus with Mom, and she lets them press the button or pull the cord as a special treat, and it makes them feel all "grown up." Well, in their little minds, if pushing it once is good, then pushing it twice is even better and... Then, when they get into elementary school, the whole "group think" thing takes over, and they do it to impress their twerpy little friends with what annoying little badasses they are. P.S. I may have been little once, but I was NEVER a child (at least not like the other children). I had the same opinion of children when I was a child that I have today.

Bell Ringer - Part one?

Q) So QuasiMoto dies, and the church of Notre Dame puts an ad in the paper for a new bell ringer. The first applicant arrives at the bell tower, but he has no arms. The Priest says to the man, "Sir, I appreciate your interest, but with no arms how will you ring the church bells?" The no armed man replies, "Please father, It's been my dream to ring the bells in the great church since I was a little no armed boy". The priest decides to give the man a chance, and he doesn't regret it. The man begins running from one end of the tower to the next chiming the bells with his head. The sound is beautiful and the priest is just about to tell the man that he has the job when the man falls from the tower and splatters on the ground below. The priest races down the tower and is met by the cardinal, who asks "Who is this man?" The Priest replies, "I don't know, but his face sure rings a bell."

Quasimodo, the bell ringer?

Q) One day Quasimodo decided to retire so he put an ad in the paper for a replacement bell ringer. A few days later the doorbell rings, and there standing in front of him is a man with the most grotesque he had ever seen. Quasimodo asked him if he had any experience ringing the church bells and they went to the bell tower. The man backs up a few feet from the bell and runs full speed face first right into it. The bell rings loud with a very nice tone. He demonstrates on all the bells as he plays a song on them. Quasimodo is beside himself and hires the guy right on the spot. Things go great for a few weeks, but one Sunday as the man was ringing the bells, he slipped and fell out of the tower. He landed face first but died anyway. Sean Bell - man shot 50 times by the New York police - why?

Q) Last weekend, 7 New York Police Department detectives were on an undercover anti prostitution sting operation at the Kalua Cabaret, a strip club in the Jamaica section of the Borough of Queens, New York. Sean Bell, a 23 year old UPS worker and minor league baseball player who was about to get married the next day, just happened to be a customer at the club that night - his friends took him their for his bachelor party. He and his freinds were asked to leave after some other guys got in an argument with them. As they were leaving, the detectives (who never showed their badges or identified themselves) ran up on Bell and his buddies in their car. Bell, fearing a robbery, tried to flee the armed men approaching him. The detectives, who still hadn't identified themselves, raked Bell's car with 50 gunshots (one detective fired 31 times - he actually had to stop and reload!) Bell died, his two friends are still in the hospital. What do you think about this? Should the cops have shot this man? Should the police even have been there in the first place (after all, is sex for cash in a strip club REALLY THAT BIG A THREAT TO PUBLIC SAFETY?) What do you think should happen to those detectives who shot this man execution style, while he was still seatbelted in his car?

A) This could have been prevented from the jump if the undercover officer had gone to the dude inside the club, informed him he was the police, and frisked him down since he observed him patting his waist as if he had a gun. End of story. BUT! Since he chose to go outside and tell his fellow officers of his SUSPICIONS, he got everyone hyped up and over zealous and bang bang. It appears they were no more than thugs in uniforms. Now they're looking for the "phantom" 4th person who they say jumped out of the car and hey, he MUST'VE been the one w/ the gun they say. Well, it's not a good time to be a Black male in NYC as they're gonna "find" this 4th gun toting dude, by hook or by crook.

Bell Ringer - Part 2?

Q) So a few days go by and the church still needs a bell ringer. A man arrives carrying a large hammer and explains, “I just came back from my brother’s funeral and now I want honor him by living his dream of being the Notre Dame bell ringer.” The priest, feeling a bit guilty after witnessing his brother’s recent demise, told the man, “Of course my son, please let us see what ability you have.” The man rang the bells and the priest was amazed that this brother was even more impressive than his brother. Again, the priest was just about to congratulate the man for getting the job, when he too fell from the bell tower and splattered oon the ground below. The priest raced down the tower and met the cardinal who was standing over the body, “Now who in the name of God is this?” The priest replied, “I’m not sure of his name, but he’s a dead ringer for his brother”

Is Bell married to the Beast?

Q) Ok, my sister was seeing if I could name all the disney princesses (don't ask) and I got just about all of them, but my sister said that I missed Bell. It is true that the Beast is a prince, so if Bell had married him then that would have made Bell a princess, but I'm not sure if they actually got married. I know they made sequells to the Beauty and the Beast, but I haven't seen in any of them that Bell actually married the beast. Both my younger and older sister think that they got married for sure, but I don't think so. Did they get married or not? If so, can you tell me where or when they got married. Was it in the original Beauty and the Beast or was it a sequell? Thanks!

A) technically there was never a marriage in the original movie, it was never shown that they were married...but its kinda assumed that they did. belle is considered to be a disney princess.

About Taco Bell?

Q) A couple months ago, I asked for a package of salt with my order at Taco Bell. I was told that they did not serve salt. I figured it was an individual store thing. Then the other day I asked for a package of salt at another Taco Bell location. Same thing "we dont' serve salt." So I asked to speak with the manager and asked "why doesnt Taco Bell serve salt?" She told me it was because that Taco Bell does not serve breakfast so they do not serve salt! Does anyone know what the association between breakfast and salt Taco Bell is making? Morgan is a faggot.
